Maria studied under renowned teachers such as Prof. Henryk Sztompka in Poland and Prof. Dieter Weber in Austria. She has won domestic and international competitions and festivals, among others were, National Competition of Mozart\u2019s Music in Katowice (distinction, 1956), I.J. Paderewski National Piano Competition in Bydgoszcz (2nd prize, 1961), 7th International Competition of Chopin\u2019s Music in Warsaw (honorary diploma for the 2nd stage, 1965), \u201cModerne Klaviertechnik\u201d in St. Moritz, Switzerland (1st prize). In 1978 she won Jose Miguel Ruiz Morales prize (the only awarded prize for the best interpretation of Spanish music) at the competition Santiago de Compostella in Spain.<\/p>\n
She started her concert activities in 1962 and from that time she has performed with many philharmonic orchestras in Poland and abroad (Germany, Romania, Turkey, Ukraine and Cuba). Maria has participated in numerous festivals, such as, Brno (1982), Marianska Lazne, Czech Republic (1985), Ghent, Belgium (1987, 1999), Ankara, Turkey (1989), Druskininkai,Lithuania(2011,2012), Minsk, Belarus (2013) and also in Poland.<\/p>\n
Maria Korecka \u2013 Soszkowska has given hundreds of concerts and recitals and made recordings for radio, television and general release (7 records including 6 CDs).<\/p>\n
She began her pedagogical work in 1967 as a teacher at the State Higher School of Music in Warsaw. From 1988 to 1990 she was a piano professor at Bilkent University in Ankara, Turkey. Since 1992 she has been working at the Grazyna and Kiejstut Bacewicz Academy of Music in Lodz, where she went through all career steps, starting from a senior lecturer to a professor (2000) and a full professor (2006). In 2007 she was appointed to the post of the Head of Piano Chair.<\/p>\n
As a jury member she participated in competitions in Ukraine (Worzel, 1999), Denmark (Helsingor, 2001), Lithuania (Druskininkai , 2011 2012 ), Russian Federation (Moscow, 2014), Lithuania (Visaginas, 2014) and in a few competitions in Poland, including the Milosz Magin Intercollegiate Competition of Chopin\u2019s Music ( Lodz, 2007) Lower Carpathians International Competition of Chopin\u2019s Music (Rzesz\u00f3w, 2012), Regional Piano Competition dedicated to A. Tasman( Lodz, 2013), International Piano Competition dedicated to L. Godowsky (Warsaw 2014). In 2014 she was organizer and director of the International Piano Competition \u201ePerformance without limits\u201d (Lodz, 2013). She has led piano courses and workshops in Poland, Ukraine, Denmark and Lithuania.
\nMaria is a member of the Fryderyk Chopin Society in Warsaw and of the Warsaw Music Society, in which she has held the post of Vice President since 2001.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
